Our modern program bridges the gap between preschool and kindergarten, and helps introduce school activities. It also helps children who have and have not attended childcare adapt to a school-like atmosphere.
Our preschool program includes full day classrooms for children 3-5 years old. Our preschool focuses on the development of the whole child- physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. Teachers will carefully observe each child in an effort to record their development and identify areas in need of guidance. Classroom curriculum is child-centered with a balance of large group interactions, small group interactions, and individual child choice time. The classroom environment is set up in learning centers including but not limited to: blocks, dramatic play, manipulatives, art, books, science, sand and water, music and movement and a quiet area. Staff will continue to implement classroom rules for safety with a focus on understanding and accepting consequences. Our outdoor play yard offers another important interest area that focuses on large muscle development.
The most important skills and attitudes you child can hope to bring to kindergarten are enthusiasm for learning, confidence in their ability to solve problems, the ability to function as a member of a team or group, the ability to follow directions and basic self-care such as keeping track of one’s belongings and personal hygiene. Our programs encourage these skills with everything we do.
